Numbers 8 and 9 Hoxton Square are a pair of Victorian buildings divided by an external courtyard. Glasshouse Developments commissioned Rivington Street Studio in 1997 to extend both buildings to provide three high specification live/work units, extend the ground floor commercial units into the courtyard with a new shaftless lift and landing structure. The roof top extensions are lightweight timber structures clad in zinc and are set in from the existing brick perimeter in order to minimise their impact on the square.
