An isolated and underused corner site at the intersection of two residential streets, Ellington Rd and Cranley Gardens in Muswell Hill. The site is steeply sloping and the opportunity has been taken to create a lower level for the entrance, bedroom and garage, concealed behind the boundary fence, with a generous open plan studio upper floor level for the kitchen, dining and living areas. The upper floor facing south east is glazed onto a wide timber deck. The building sits hard up against the boundary on the north west and north east sides, providing a 2m high brick garden wall onto the neighbouring property on Cranley Gardens. Solid walls are otherwise clad in timber. The mono pitched zinc clad roof extends over the timber deck. New trees around the perimeter will provide visual and acoustic insulation.
