Working with a private developer and partner housing association this scheme is at detailed planning application stage to provide 150 new homes on a former industrial site on the riverside in Grays - within the Thames Gateway area. The scheme challenges the Council’s notions of density, massing and style whilst attempting to respond to high parking standards. The resultant scheme is at a density of 508 HRHA (184 homes per hectare) whilst maintaining a 1:1 car parking ratio and significant usable amenity space. The scheme seeks to challenge the existing cul-de-sac exclusivity of recent nearby developments by creating a new public route through the site giving Grays some much needed connectivity to the unexploited riverside.
