A four storey extension to a listed occupied Victorian Board School to provide a new state of the art training facility for educational staff at The Learning Trust – Hackney’s education authority. The extension connects to re-modelled accommodation within the original school building and includes a new kitchen and nursery for the school itself.
The scheme seeks to visually complete the original school building using simple but dynamically arranged modern forms which echo but do not ape the boldness of the existing building.
