24 Station Road

The development of a former car park site which had been vacant for nearly 30 years, this scheme consists of 14 one and two bedroom apartments and a local library within the South Norwood Conservation Area. Rivington Street Studio was appointed as the delivery architect, providing technical design services and site inspections to Neilcott Construction.

Referencing an Art Deco cinema which formerly stood on an adjacent site, a central five storey white brick bay projects infront of a subservient curved red brick element sitting a storey lower. Balconies are inset within brickwork recesses. All the homes are designed to be dual or triple aspect, have generous floor to ceiling heights and generally exceed London Plan spatial standards. All homes have NHBC warranties.

The project is part of Brick by Brick’s smaller sites programme, delivering high quality and affordable housing for the people of Croydon.
