Wendy Mason
Director
As a founding director of Rivington Street Studio, Wendy takes a holistic approach to the design of the built environment and infrastructure to positively enhance the lives of as many people as possible. She has over 30 years’ experience in the education, housing and public sectors and has built a strong reputation for understanding the vision and aims of a project. She takes a ‘hands-on’ approach in translating the earliest of conceptual ideas into a physical reality.
Wendy is active in higher education by delivering lectures, hosting design workshops and as an external examiner, and she is a governor of a local secondary school.
David Tucker
Director
David has co-directed Rivington Street Studio since 2007, supporting teams across a wide range of projects in the education, housing and commercial sectors. His approach is focused around collaboration, attention to detail and sustainable design. He has extensive experience in project delivery and has successfully completed a range of award-winning new build, remodelled and retrofit projects within London and the South East.
David is also a Trustee for Liberty Academies Trust and a Professional Studies Advisor for Part 3 students at the University of Cambridge.
Dominic Head
Associate
Dominic is a highly talented member of the Rivington Street Studio architectural team and has excellent experience within the education sector for both schools and universities. He is adept at delivering excellent design solutions for both new build and refurbishment. He is very successful in dealing with planning authorities including navigating the rigorous procedures involved with listed building applications and for those on constrained sites. Dom forges strong working relationships with all project stakeholders and is skilful at managing complex solutions to briefs within occupied buildings. In addition to his project work, Dom manages our in-house ‘Friday afternoon talks’.
Richard Trew
Associate
Richard has a wealth of experience in the education and arts sectors and has successfully delivered a range of high profile and award-winning schemes for the practice. He applies his expertise in conservation and remodelling to a variety of existing building contexts from Georgian terraces to 1960s concrete-framed buildings, giving all the same level of engagement and care.
Mark Strelley-Jones
Associate Director
Mark supports the team at a senior level drawing on his excellent technical and organisational skills. His background in leading education and healthcare schemes enables him to take a strategic view, resolving complex issues that often require extensive consultation and innovative solutions. He is used to working with multiple stakeholder groups and believes in developing strong, collaborative working relationships to achieve successful project outcomes.
Steve Fitzwilliam
Associate + Passivhaus Designer
Steve has extensive planning and project-running experience. He has worked in and coordinated multi-disciplinary teams of varying sizes. He has successfully developed projects and interior schemes on complex education and residential-led mixed-use sites for local authority and private clients alike. Steve is Chair of the practice’s Green Team and is a certified Passivhaus Designer. In addition, Steve manages the practice’s CPD programme.
Richard Holland
Associate Director
Richard is an experienced architect with strong skills in communication and collaboration. He has expert knowledge of sports and commercial sectors and has successfully delivered a range of new build and refurbishment projects, with a strong emphasis on traditional procurement routes. He is experienced at dealing with stakeholders and consultants at all stages of a project and has led teams to secure planning permission on projects up to £50m. Richard is also leading the practice in their adoption of BIM.
Éimear Murphy
Associate Director
Éimear has delivered a number of our education projects within both primary and secondary school sectors. She has specialist knowledge of the DfE output specification as well as the Building Bulletin design guidelines for schools. Her recent work has involved coordinating multi-disciplinary teams as lead consultant often working with demanding briefs within tight programmes and whilst buildings have remained in use. She also has experience of project delivery under both design & build and traditional procurement routes. Éimear is also responsible for our staff inductions and CPD.
Within the practice, Éimear is responsible for our internal project management system. Externally, Éimear sits on the Brighton & Hove DesignPLACE review panel, providing thought leadership and expertise to support the city’s development challenges.
Tomos Owen
Associate
Tomos has worked on projects at various scales, particularly across education and civic sectors. His experience with complex briefs and stakeholder bodies has been useful in the successful delivery of projects in the office. Tomos is Chair of the practice’s Employee Forum, which he has championed since the practice became an EOT. His wider practice roles also include induction management, membership of the Green Team and leading Rivington Street Studio’s new office management system.
